We are grateful that our Grandpa Ed Hess saved so many newspapers, like the 1966 special edition of the Derrick celebrating 125 years of Colonel Drake finding oil in Titusville. Hi-Level is in Ashland Township, in Fern, PA. Without photos and articles like these, it would be hard to believe that there were oil derricks dotting the landscape where Hi-Level is today, as well as in many of those small towns in the area like Knox and the former Cogley City.
